What a 2,160-bed gift taught the University about giving at scale
The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s hostel complex — ten blocks, commissioned at the 41st Convocation — is the reference point for the Network’s named-gift programme.

When the Aliko Dangote Foundation commissioned a 2,160-bed student hostel complex at the 41st Convocation, it demonstrated the model the Network’s giving programme is built on: a specific, photographable project; a named, permanent legacy; and a gift received, executed and celebrated in public.
The Benefactors Board carries that model forward. Major gifts and commitments are recorded openly — tier by tier, project by project — with fulfilment tracked and honoured. Every fund publishes what it received and what it built; the annual report and the auditors’ letter are published on this site.
The lesson of the hostel is simple: Nigerians give greatly when giving is specific, dignified and accounted for. The funds are open.
